While adoption can bring so much joy it is also a fragile process fraught with heartbreak. However teens have lower adoption rates and often wait longer to be adopte. What has the potential to be a lifelong loving relationship in a much longed for child for a couple and a forever home for a child can also fall through at any stage.

These are very real scenarios.
